The dreaded "to-do" list...

I had it all written out....
*The "Love Dare" book for Chrissy
*A plant for Diane
*Toiletries for my daughter
*Treats for Max
*Cookies for Church

I thought I'd run to at least 3 stores today, but as it turned out, Wal-mart had everything I needed. The plant could have been a little more livelier but Ms. Diane will nurture it with lots of love.

Anyway, I got to the car and started to cross the items off and forgot the sugar cookies. "Oh my goodness. I'm not going back in there," I said to myself. I continued on w/my plans and headed to the park to read my Bible. How incredible that whenever I read it, those little epiphanies make their appearance.

It's perfectly okay that the "to do" list isn't complete. In the past it use to FREAK me out when I didn't do everything on the list - (home & work). Now, when I actually think about it, is it part arrogance or part forgetfulness for us to think that we should? Life's metaphor... if we could accomplish "it" all, then what would we need God for?

The point being, we cannot accomplish it all and we do need him. His job is to help us along the way and w/his help, we can begin to check them off accordingly. If we did "it" by ourselves, like most humans, we'd probably take all the credit.

I don't ever want to be in such a place where I forget to depend on God and forget to thank God. He is my source and my strength and I need him in all areas of my life, even when it comes to something as simple as my "to do" list.

Palsm 18:1
I love you, O Lord, my strength.

I went to the park and read the Word today also.

What a nice post. It is just what I needed to hear tonight. Sometimes I get overwhelmed thinking that I didn't do everything I had planned on at the beginning of the day.

And you are so right. Trust in the Lord and He will guide us through all the things we have on our "list".

HELLO MY FREE SPIRIT BUTTERFLY,
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR DROPPING BY AND SHARING WITH ME. YOUR SISTER HAS BEEN ON MY PRAYER LIST FOR A LONG TIME.
I WOULD NEVER WANT TO TAKE CREDIT FOR ANYTHING GIVING ALL PRAISE AND GLORY TO THE LORD FOR ALL THINGS....IT IS VERY EASY FOR PEOPLE TO BECOME SO FULL OF THEMSELVES THEY GORGE THE LORD COMPLETELY OUT OF THE WAY.
HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY AS WE REMEMBER IT WAS OUR LORD THAT BOUGHT OUR TRUE INDEPENDENCE.
I ENJOY YOUR POSTS ALL THOUGH I DON'T MAKE COMMENTS BUT I SHOULD AS THEY EACH ONE BLESS ME, CHINA.
LOVE AND HUGS

Hello Solomon. It's so good to hear from you and so exciting that we were doing the exact same thing at different locations. What a serendipty moment ;-)

A lady's life, if the Lord grants us another day, yes, we can try again to check off the leftover items from the day prior ;-)

Hi Jeannette, yes, when the Holy Spirit guides me, this is where I post "thoughts, feelings, emotions, etc....
My friend Carey made and excellent point. Why are we following people on facebook when most of them haven't a clue as to where they are going? ;-)

Debbie, thank you so much for praying for my sister. She doesn't like to read much and I think it's because the Bible can be intimidating to new believers. I was lost, confused and just all over the place until I found a good Church and a Pastor who was willing to have Bible Study even though there were only 2 students. I keep praying that the Lord will show her HIS purpose and increase her faith. She's got a ticket to heaven and that makes me happier than ever.

Thank you guys for stopping by with this being the 4th of July weekend and all.

Love, prayers and lots of butterflies.
China and Max.
