The ART of Love

if i could frame our love

i would not write a novel trying to explain our love

no specific instructions on how we came to love

just a promise to one another to abstain from love

it sounds like a cliche' but true friendship sustains our love

it hasn't always been easy trying to refrain from love

as i look back, uncertain on how we came to love

if i could frame our love, it would be a simple photograph of
your hand in mine

knowing that finally there is no pain in love

*a poem from my first book

This could have been written in another century. In actuality, it is a poem about the beauty of courtship, of holding something sacred & allowing love to manifest in its own natural way. Instead of being seen as 'old-fashioned' it strangely sort of revolutionary, given the fast times we currently exist within.

As a sentiment, it is rare. As a poem, it is lovely. Mad lovely.

One.

Happy Monday beautiful ones...

Miz,

Thanks for your "beautiful" comment. :-)

Mr. Ross,

I do humbly accept what you've said here. I have discovered, overtime, that when I'm "not" in a relationship is when my best work comes to light.

Not being in love but having been in love has given me so much clarity of the blessings and lessons that each one has "seasoned" me with.

Although I long for that "courtship" I patiently await his arrival.

Thank you both for stopping by ~
Love and peace for a great day!

Thank you. It's one of my favorites.

I'm sure all writers say that about something they've written at one time or another...
