I Surrender

I am not naïve
Nor am I deceived

I am just a sinner
Who chooses to believe

The enormous debt
He paid for me

His pain and suffering
Has set me free

His death brought light
To my sinful life

It was His selfless and
Ultimate sacrifice

He continually shows me
The error of my ways

I need Him beside me
The rest of my days

I tried repeatedly to
Do things on my own

And then a gentle whisper said
To bring it to His throne

In my flesh I tried
Everything I knew how

Exhausted and helpless
I finally surrendered and bowed

“Your entire past has been wiped clean
And By MY blood you have been redeemed”
Ephesians 3:14 For this reason I kneel before the Father,

Romans 14:11 It is written: "'As surely as I live,' says the Lord, 'every knee will bow before me; every tongue will confess to God.'"

Philippians 2:10 ...that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

Psalms 95:6 Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker;

Isaiah 45:23 By myself I have sworn, my mouth has uttered in all integrity a word that will not be revoked: Before me every knee will bow; by me every tongue will swear.

Testify, my Sista! Testify!

This was the all-encompassing Truth. Well-worded, & FAITHfully very concise in the way you told your story.

And all while reading this, because your rhyme schemes are so tight, I kept thinking this would make a wonderful & soul-stirring Gospel song.

Thank you Mr. Ross :-)

I like to believe that I have the freedom to write my story as it pertains to my journey...as we each have our own.  I simply cannot suppress my feelings as it relates to His gift to me. In this world and in my line of work, He truly sustains me day after day.

A quote that I love by Jose Addison: Three grand essentials to happiness in this life are something to do, something to love, and something to hope for.

My something to do: Prayerfully, live a life that's pleasing to Him.
My something to love: Love others as He has commanded me to do.
My something to hope for: Knowing that when I take my last breath on earth, I will take my first breath in Heaven.

w/love and humble thanks for your comment

Wow!
At the dealers having some work done on my car and wow...your comment made my morning!

Especially after hearing the repairs will cost $1060. Ouch!

Thank you for complimenting something that has taken years of searching & journaling to surface. His doing, not mine :)

LOVE for a great weekend!

I so love when you "wax poetically". Often reaching down to my soul, you make me feel, remember, embrace and dream. Thanks for that sis!

Ditto Miz,
The feeling is quite mutual as I visit and reflect upon your blog and our similarities.

Over the years we've expressed hope, dreams and views on faith as we've grown into ourselves and learned countless lessons along the way.

As I like to say, "By His grace alone."

The man that beholds the "women" we're becoming and the "women" yet to be is going to be blessed beyond anything he's ever imagined :-)

Love, peace and look out world. Lol
