You've got mail...

Funny...when I lived in Waldorf, I checked the mail everyday before I pulled into the garage.  Now that I live on the beach and have been delivered from all my debt, I forget to check it. Lol

Last Thursday, I just so happen to check the little silver box with my name on it and lo' and behold...a mixture of emotions came over me, all in this order.

1. Gratitude:  My airline tickets arrived. With God's grace, I am going to Alaska for my birthday.  I cannot believe it. It was certainly a Serendipity moment for me.  Initially, I had planned to drive to Atlanta to see Dr. Charles Stanley at his Church. But a week ago I received his monthly devotional which stated that he was sponsoring a Cruise during my birthday week in July.  SUPER EXCITED...CANNOT Wait!

2.  Disappointment: I was upset with myself.  I got a speeding ticket for $125.  OUCH!  I do have a tenancy to drive a little faster than I should.  I know it's wrong and I am working on it.  I'm telling you, it's the car.  When I had a Toyota Corolla, it only did the speed limit.  I had that car for 14 years and never got a ticket.  This FIERY RED sports car of mine has a mind of its own.

3.  JOY:  My dad sent me a greeting card.  Oh how I love those.  Just seeing them in the mailbox gets me all youthful and excited.  I saved the best for last.  I didn't open it until I finished my hour long walk on the boardwalk.  I got all cozy and wrapped myself in my favorite throw as I begin to open his love letter :-)

There was a photo of a phone on the front and I just knew it would be something of humor since we text more than we talk...but BOY oh BOY did he surprise me.  Inside was an unexpected and overwhelming love offering.  I cried like a little girl.  He has a way of bringing on a range of emotions.  I left him a voicemail because he wasn't home at the time.  He told me later that when he heard my message, my tears made him cry.  Yep! I'm a daddy's girl.

Love for a great day!

Hey there my Phoenix friend. GM!

I've checked out some of the excursions and they are pretty pricey. But then again...how many times do you get to go to Alaska?

My ginormous smile has a lot to do w/being a daddy's girl. We rock!

ALASKA – hooray and with Dr. Stanley on a cruise? You are on your way to having a blast. As a treat, you get to listen to be with Andy Stanley too? He’s awesome. I lived n ATL for a year and attended Dr. Stanley’s church and I was always in the front row every Sunday. You will be blessed beyond measure. A sweet birthday present!

How did you get a speeding ticket? Don’t they know who they were giving it to? Just curious –are you able to get it dismissed? Just this past Friday, my hubby was on his way to NYC to a car show and got pulled over because of his tainted windows and he was let go when they saw military tag. Guess the cops were having a good day and their quota was met. On the other hand, I can’t help thinking that you didn’t say anything and accept ‘being guilty as charged’. Bummer for the ticket though.

That is so sweet of your dad to spoil his girl. I am happy for you and so it should be. I don’t t have the greatest relationship with mine and hope for a miracle some days.

Blessings sister

Good morning sweet sisters in Christ Jesus! Happy Thursday!!!

Myriam, I am so excited, I simply cannot contain myself. I was saved via Dr. Stanley's preaching on the radio. You cannot tell me that the Holy Spirit did not use Him to call me into His Kingdom. That is one call I'm so very grateful I answered.

Yes...the infraction was all my fault. There are speed cameras stationed throughout the city and I got what I deserved.

I added your relationship with your dad to my prayer list and I know for certain that HE is in the business of working miracles. He has surely worked some in my life and we know that HE is a MIGHTY GOD!

Toia, I will surely bring you a gift and take lots of photos. An entire week of praise and worship and no crime reports!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm doing cartwheels up until the plane takes off. Lol
Enjoy your weekend!

That’s amazing how you got saved. Truly God works in ways we cannot explain away. I sure hope you get to shake his hands and tell him your conversation story. We should post about our testimony how God redeemed us and share our experiences. Just a thought! At his church, Dr. Stanley stays at the end of the service to greet people, shake their hands, and have a little conversation. He’s truly a blessing to the body of Christ. If you have never listened to his son, I HIGHLY recommend him (Andy Stanley). He’s such a gifted speaker but don’t take my word for it – you will get to meet him and hear for yourself. My ultimate dream vacation is to go to Israel one day and walk where Jesus once walked. One day.

Thank you so very much for the prayers and I cannot think you enough. Truly that will be a miracle. And as you said – our Father is in that business. I will pray for you too on this side here.

God bless you!

My Lady...thank you so very much. I'm happy for me too :-)

Myriam, I met him at a book signing. Got a photo with him but didn't get to talk intimately. Looking forward to that on the cruise. I'd love to post about our testimonies. Let me know when.

You and have have the same dream...to go to Israel. MY Lord has blessed me with the finances to do so, I'm just waiting for the Spirit to tell me when!

It would be awesome beyond words if we were to go together. We can also add that to our list of prayers.

Love and hugs for a GREAT DAY!

So heartfelt, I enjoyed a deep conversation with my daughter two days ago and I realize that it truly warms my heart to bring out the babygirl in her, even though she's 18 now. There really is something special concerning the love of a daughter/father bond. It truly is.

Hmm. How does a cop receive a traffic ticket?

Alaska sounds nice and COLD. Lol.

GM Don. You are so correct, the bond that I share with my dad is unique all its own. Truly priceless!

As for the ticket...I was "running late" - not an excuse...and the speed camera did what it does. Lol

I truly had no desire to go to Alaska. I just happened to get a two for one. I did check the web and May-July are considered the "warmer" months with the highs being in the 40s. Also, there is supposed to be only 4 hours of darkness. Either way, I'm super excited and SUPER grateful for the chance to experience it.

Love and peace for a great day.
