Work isn't so bad...

There are days when I am searching for a good reason to call in.  A day where I can pretend that I'm a writer and not a cop.  I long to just work at my leisure, along with a cup of herbal tea and the sweet bird's song in the background.  And then around lunch time, I'd take a walk along the seashore, become inspired by something I've seen, heard or read and then go back to my home office and let the creativity take flight.

Before I even realize it, being so involved in my craft, the sun begins to set and I am frozen in time.  Just staring at God's handiwork.  I admire with a humble and grateful heart.  I then make my way to the kitchen and see what's for dinner.  Fooling myself into thinking that I could whip up a small gourmet meal, I then reach for the phone and order in.

And the grand finale would be a hot bubble bath, a scented candle and a calm reflection on my entire day.

With all that being said - I am a cop. Yes, this isn't my dream job, but it does have its perks.  I get to help people, support and encourage and prayerfully, leave them with some kind of comfort that they are not alone.
As for the job itself, it isn't so bad.  Specifically on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  All is calm and I am able to hear my thoughts, catch up on some paperwork and give my undivided attention.  My team is a great fit and we truly have become a family.  Not to say that I wont' retire in the next four years, but for now... it isn't so bad.

I am grateful and I appreciate every day that the Lord has blessed me with.

You have not chosen an easy profession but like you said you serve your country and the community in the best way. It takes special people to do this and you seem to fit the bill Butterfly. God bless you on your journey and keep you safe.
Merry Christmas to you.:)

Hello friend! I just wanted to stop by and say hello. I'm going to try and start blogging again. Hope all is well with you and your book. I need the info again so I can purchase a copy. Enjoy the holiday season and I pray that 2012 is the greatest year you've ever had.

It's really really really hard for me to believe you are a cop. I just cannot seem to fathom the fact. Most cops I've encountered, even friends, are overly aggressive.

Amazing. Lol.
