A public service announcement

I have to admit that I waste food. I'm not proud of it and I don't do it with intention. I'm one, a very picky eater and two, somewhat of a hoarder. I don't know where I get it from, but it's a habit that I've yet to break. I stock up on toiletries and food. I have food in my car, office and home. When my son visits, he's always saying, "Mom, why do you have all this food?"

As most of you know, its just me and the doggie. (smile) Anyway, I'm writing this post in hopes to reaching out to Solomon, my blog friend. His comments on my last post really touched my heart. I'm asking that he contact me via e-mail so that I may offer him some assistance. I'm not rich by any means and oftentimes when people think of helping someone, they initially think that they don't have the time or money. There are many ways in which the Lord will use you, if you just start by opening your heart.

I wonder what would happen if we gave a stranger $5 or $10? He/she just might buy a cup of coffee, a breakfast sandwich and a want add. In turn, there could be a job opening in that very same newspaper that he/she is qualified for. Better yet, it just may say, "No experience necessary!"

So, I'm asking that if you can't help Solomon, look around you today in your routine travels and look a stranger in the eye. The eyes never lie (unless the person is a really great actor). The eyes usually say, "I'm in need of something.... food, clothing, a place to sleep, something to eat, a hug, a prayer, etc..." Help someone and watch the rewards overflow in your life!

"Happiness and joy come in this life when we share God's blessings with others!

Love for a great day!

Good post and good reminder. Our mayor a few years back encouraged the entire city to give to our several homeless shelters and quit giving to people directly on the street. That way the money goes to provide food, shelter, clothes, etc instead of alcohol or drugs. I would encourage others to do the same. Of course if you know giving directly will help, by all means, do so!

Let me start by saying that I love Solomon. He always has the best things to say.

My husband carries money in his pocket each day that he specifically uses to give to those who need. It makes him feel good. It started when he got lunch for one of his co-workers. He had two dollars change and told my husband to give it to someone who needed it. He did it and has been doing it ever since.

Hello again!! I missed you much.

Your post is so true. A stranger's eyes can say a whole lot, especially if you listen with your heart.

Have a bless weekend!!

Great post!
I'm glad to see that I'm not alone, because I'm very picky too & waste food. I've been trying to break out of that. :/

I loved the post, its always an amazing feeling to help someone as well as an amazing feeling to be helped when you least expect it.

And that is a great quote "Happiness and joy come in this life when we share God's blessings with others!"
