Who is your confidant?

Someone very dear to my heart confided something very personal to me. I was touched but a little overwhelmed. As I listened and participated in the conversation. I could hear the spirit in me making suggestions, offering comfort and asking things that the "old" me would not have done. I asked about his religious beliefs, I suggested that he pray about it and I suggested that he journal about his feelings. I also suggested counseling. Something most folks are afraid of but it really does offer some insight to the situation. And lastly, I suggested that he spend some time alone and just reflect on his life, what went wrong and what it is he truly wants for his future. Sometimes the best blessings come from the worst pain.

I am no expert on life. There are professionals with hourly wages that would love to keep you in the "chair" for hours at a time, Pastors who are guided by the spirit to bring you closer to accepting what may or may not be working in your life, there are your closest friends who would love to see you happy "or not" and offer advice based on "their" experiences and there are of course family members who love you and "think" they know what's best for you.

But in "my" opinion, the only one who will love you, understand you, accept you and forgive you is the Lord. HE does all these things with out any conditions attached. HE wants to hear from you and HE wants to sit in prayer with you.

Psalm 4:1 Answer me when I call to you, O my righteous God.
Give me relief from my distress: be merciful to me and hear my prayer.

Psalm 5:3 In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my request before you and and wait in expectation.

Well said sis. I definitely tend too internalize things, so my relationship with God many times is my only way to vent. This is especially true when I'm moody or troubled, but can't quite put my finger on why.

Thanks for being a blessing and see ya soon.

With my voice I cry to the Lord, and He hears and answers me out of His holy hill.
Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!

Good morning Big Brother. I can't wait to see you. Thanks for greeting me this early Saturday and for being the special person you are. I told "him" that the Lord was there for me, the days when I dropped to my knees not knowing where to turn. And well, look at me now (smile)

Love you still!

I couldn't have said that any better. God is everything He wants us to be. He gave His Son, Jesus, so that we can cut through all the red tape and just come to Him in prayer with a humble and repentance heart. Have a bless weekend!!

No one knows our secrets and inner soul like our Father. In fact nothing is secret to Him, so why not go to Him with our everything. Christ should be our number one confidant, for who knows the vessel better than the potter?

But there is a place for bearing on anothers burdens too. I know when I have a major crisis in my heart I tend to clam up and dig down, be on my own apart from others. Too much of that is not healthy. We are not meant to be islands alone with Christ but to be a part of a living breathing body. Not everything needs to be spilt from our heart into others, but for myself I need to share more than I do. There are times I can be so introverted I seem to pop out like a concave disk warped into an opposite shape.

Love your thoughts and the dialogue they produce.

Hey Ladies, thanks for stopping by on this gorgeous Saturday. Jen, that last sentence sounds like a stanza in a poem. Love it.

Hey, sometimes nothing needs to be said and He will answer before we ask. I love this post. The answers to all of our life problems can be found in the word of God.

When I think of all that God is to me and all that He has provided me with, both physically and mentally, I am reminded of the book of Matthew. In chapter 6 Jesus speaks about clothing and food and the mind.

The amplified version tells us that 6:33-34 "But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right) and then all these things taken together will be given you besides. So do not worry or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries and anxieties of its own. Sufficient for each day is its own trouble.

There will be difficulties in this walk with Christ but if we seek the kingdom and all His rightousness and cast every care, every burden upon Him, our steps become easier and our pathways straight!

I know this is long but I pray that it encourages someone. I will pray for that individual and his family.

I love you sis!

Stacye, it's never too long. Never! I love that scripture in Matthew so very much. Especially when it says, "Look at the birds of the air, they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.

PAKART, I will add your friends to my prayer list!

Love you both!

Hearty "Amen" dear sister. He will listen though He knows it all. He will console and bring healing - all with dignity.
You couldn't have given your friend better advice.
