Obedience

As most of you know, I'm on my one-year journey through the Bible and tonight as I read this particular chapter, it literally brought tears to my eyes. As I wiped them with my hand, they continued to flow and I had to use my shirt because there wasn't any tissue near by... My heart went out to Moses and it just goes to show that GOD wants us to obey his commands. Yes, there are times when it will be difficult; but remember that there will also be consequences!

Deuteronomy 3:23-27 - At that time I pleaded with the Lord: "O Sovereign Lord, you have begun to show to your servant your greatness and your strong hand. For what god is there in heaven or on earth who can do the deeds and mighty works you do? Let me go over and see the good land beyond the Jordan-that fine hill country and Lebanon." But because of you the Lord was angry with me and would not listen to me. "That is enough," the Lord said, "Do not speak to me anymore about this matter. Go up to the top of Pisgah and look west and north and south and east. Look at the land with your own eyes, since you are not going to cross this Jordan.

I always find the story of Moses amazing...how could those people not get it time after time after time. God was so good to them, yet they kept turning away. It also gives me hope...they were God's chosen people and he made a way for them to return to Him. Even after all we've done.

I read your comment on my blog and just have to say i have had some fun jobs and I have had some real hard ones as well. Right now I really like my job but there are times I wish for something else.

You are standing up to the lions of injustice with your work. Thanks for what you do. Where would we be without heroic crime fighters. You're my HERO!

About your blog - I always thought it seemed a rip off for Moses that God told him he couldn't go into the promised land - just for one little time of not listening to him. But I think it stands as a reminder to us all is that all it takes is one time, one sin and we fall short of God's goodness. It has been a reminder through the ages of how much we need God.

Powerful Scripture post! A great lesson and a great reminder for us to walk in obedience.

Thank you for leaving the beautiful words/prayers of encouragement on my blog. While I'm not 100% yet I'm on my way in Jesus Name.

Bless you my sister in Christ.

Hello there-

My heart went out to Moses too considering what he went through with the rebellious bunch of Israel and of all people he deserves to set foot in the promised land. At least, that's I always thought.

A great reminder that the leadership position is not easy and examples must be set to follow for others.

We need to ask Moses about that when we get to the other side.

Good morning to all of my beautiful sisters in Christ. I love you all and I especially love the fact that we all can share in HIS GLORY. I love the lessons I'm learning and how they apply to my life and how we can grow together and hopefully help someone along the way!

Love, peace and blessings!

Hey sis.

Years ago someone asked about Moses' punishment in comparison to David's punishment for having sex with Bathsheba and getting her husband killed. None of us could rationalize it, but it seems like Moses' followers should have learned a valuable lesson.

Pray your weekend is peaceful.
