What's your analogy?

What a weird question right?

As most of you know, I'm in law enforcement and I work crazy hours. Oftentimes during the late shift you're riding home alone with your thoughts. And after listening to the police radio all day, I like to ride home in peace. That is until my mind starts wandering; just as it did last night about 2am. I was looking in the rear view mirror and had this epiphany of how the rear view mirror resembled my past and how the front windshield resembles my future. Wow, I'm getting goose bumps just thinking about it.

I created this thing called a blog in May of 08 by chance. I love to write and couldn't stop writing. I overheard someone talking about a blog and googled it. Here I am with all of you and anyone else who just happens to google "afreespiritbutterfly." To be honest I still do it from time to time to see if I'm still there (lol)

I use to be such a quiet, shy, introvert with low self esteem, no voice and no power. At least that's how I saw myself. And as I think about the "small print" on the rear view mirror which says objects may appear larger/closer than there are.... That was me, no one told me those things, I created that image of myself. I was listening to Joel Osteen on Sunday and he was talking about how GOD gives you the gift of good-bye. Well he gave it to me. My divorce resulted in the bright, bold, beautiful butterfly who found her voice. She is happier than ever, confident and ready to embrace all that the Lord has in store for her. She is not afraid of the future, she no longer holds onto the past and she is been inside of me all along!

Wow lady that was soooo deep (and true) and it gave me goose bumps too. You have grown in Christ so much over the last year & I'm just praying for yours and (our) continued growth in Christ through the word of God. Peace (be with you always) Love (throughout your life time) and Continued Blessings (until eternity) always your sister and friend in him.

You had better GO AHEAD!!!! (I wish you could see me standing up pointing at my monitor.

That was deep. I truly enjoyed your analogy. I'll think about mine on my way home and get back to you on mine. I've never thought about.

Thanks for the food for thought.

Blessings!

Once your journey starts your eyes are opened to everything around you. God bless. I know there's so much more to come.

What a great analogy! I think the Holy Spirit was up to something - revealing deep truth as He always does. Press on girl - keep your eyes forward. The apostle Paul would say:

Brothers or sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead (Phil 3:13)

We are cheering you and I am glad to hear that you have found your voice. I am also a quiet and introvert person and for years I thought I was weird for not being outgoing and outspoken - then I realized that it's how God made me and I began to feel comfortable in my own skin.

And thank you for stopping by today.

Love your blog, the name, and the design.

Have a great weekend.

Happy Saturday to you also.
I love your analogy. I just checked.
Your still there, and I think that's another analogy.
