If Only...

If only you hadn’t come into my life
If only I hadn’t heard your voice
If only you hadn’t touched my hand
If only you hadn’t kissed my lips
If only you hadn’t been so selfless
If only you hadn’t embraced my tears
If only you hadn’t listened so deeply
If only you hadn’t shown me the view
If only you hadn’t eased my fears
If only you hadn’t caressed my back
If only you hadn’t touched me there
If only you hadn’t returned my calls
If only you hadn’t saw who I was
If only you hadn’t touched my soul
If only you hadn’t reopened my heart
If only you hadn’t shared in my dreams
If only you hadn’t ignited the passion
If only you hadn’t strengthened my faith

I wouldn’t have craved your body next to mine
last night and cried so intensely until I fell off to sleep.

Sounds like you remember the way it used to be. It must truly be better to love and have lost because, after reading, I'd still go ahead and enjoy the bliss, even if it ends unfavorably. Your words spoke well.

Reminds me of an old Angela Bofill song that seemed to end on a positive note. Tonight I Give In.

If only is beautiful.

Out of approximately 20 lines, 18 are positive. Seems like something worth going through.

Find yourself in today's post.

Thank you for the WORD. You know that's my book. S(amuel) LC.

Much appreciation to Don and SLC. Although I've had my heart broken several times, I'm still a beleiver in LOVE. The next time around I'm going to pace myself. The old me use to go in heart first (is that so wrong if it feels so good?) On the other hand, who truly knows......
Peace & continued blessings!

I think we've all had those "If only," moments. I've been married 19 years and I still have them.

I am loving your blog posts. I can relate to this poem. Whew! I am growing, learning and applying what I have learned.
