Making peace with ourselves

This post was inspired by SLC. In his most recent post, he commented on the dislike of his freckles. He was going to post a picture similar to mine but decided against it because the past came back to haunt him about being teased when he was a little kid. How amazing that we are our own worst critics. He doesn't like his "face full of freckles" however, he's been happily married for 15 years. Go figure....

Well I'm here to ask you to make peace with yourselves once and for all. Beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder and I haven't met any of you and surely haven't judged you by any blog pictures that you may have posted. I'm not even basing my decision on whether or not you follow my blog. I have come to know many of you through your words, expressions, truths and life experiences. And from what we've shared, you're all beautiful to me; flaws and all.

Dislikes: I don't like my hands, my hips, my moles on my face, my mini love handles, my stretch marks, my legs or my nose.

Likes: I like my brown eyes, my incredible smile, my straight teeth, my ears, my gorgeous locs and my feet.

As I've gotten older, I've made peace with my dislikes because that's how the Lord made me and the most important thing that matters to me is a person's heart and their character.
