Ouch!

First of all, I would like to say a very special THANK YOU to our Veterans and Soldiers. I am grateful beyond words for your service and protection. Peace be with you and your loved ones.

I had to post this below msg. And boy does it sting. I am doing my Bible study and happened upon this:

C. S. Lewis wrote, "We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased."

The study question for the student is:
What do you think Lewis means that "we are far too easily pleased?"

A Lady's Life said...

Thing is, life is about exposure.
This is why a stifled community is a dead community. Ex. Bush people of South America. They are being exterminated because they are happy living the way they live. They know nothing better and they do not want to know. We, living on an elevated plane, destroy their living habitat.
Some say we must leave them alone,as a distinct people. Others say there must be intervention. They must be pulled into the intl social sphere because other wise they are unprotected and will get diseases and die . The Inuit, who never had colds until they met up with foreigners, is another example of this.
If you don't know better, you don't need better. Islam was living this way for centuries. They did less damage to the planet living this way but killed more people. So.....turn the coin how you will, there are always two sides to the coin.lo, Thats why we called it life because living things ARE IN CONSTANT CHANGE.

I'd believe Lewis to suggest that we as a people have little or no morals. Easily read and easily fed by the masses. No true direction.

Express your personal thoughts, please.
