My Epiphany

Epiphany - a sudden intuitive leap of understanding, especially through an ordinary but striking occurrence. I remember thinking that "if" I didn't get the new job I was hoping for that I would ask my Commander if I could paint my "new" office. What's the worst he could say? I just wanted to have a splash of color; something to cheer me up if I was going to spend most of my day at work. In the midst of moving, being the acting boss and preparing for my presentation, it didn't hit me until last week that my new office came w/a splash of paint. It just so happen to be the same color as the color in my bedroom. Just one main wall that makes a statement. So busy moving about and reading crime reports, it hadn't dawned on me that GOD gave me what I wanted, at the same time, not giving me what I wanted. As you know, I didn't get the job, but I've got a brand new office, a splash of color and a small reminder of home, all through HIS Grace.

Stay or G0- One minute prayer... Ephesians 1:11-12
In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory.

I've had that happen too. I've asked for one thing and didn't get it, but then God blesses me in another area. You have to have your eyes open because sometimes we focus so much on one thing that we forget to look around and see what else God has done for us.

"For [as] the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts." (Isaiah 55:9)

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11)

God always knows what we need most before we do or can even imagine.

Blessings to you!!

God does surprise us with unexpected blessings. I'm so thankful He can see the begining from the end and know the deepest reaches of our hearts.

Love you.

I love this scripture and beautifully woven into your story...he does know just what we need - when/how we need it :)

I loved your post! You know, I am getting older and learning more and more....our prayers sometimes appear superficial or silly when we get to look back over our lives and see where the Lord has led us, in spite of our requests that we thought were so important! I am so glad you are "back" to posting...missed you!!!!
