Chicken soup for the soul

I am a fan of these series and the one I'm currently reading is "Life Lessons for Woman." But as you read through it, some or most apply to human beings in general. Example: The authors list 7 essential ingredients for a balanced life, and life lesson #2 is titled, Cultivating Intimacy.

"Oh, the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person, having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all right out just as they are... " by Dinah Mirah & Mulock Craik.

Authentic intimacy occurs in those connections with other people in which you can see and be seen, know and be known; in which you experience enough trust that you can reveal your innermost selves to one another. As you cultivate a greater level of intimacy in your relationships, your life will be enriched immeasurably.

It wasn't until I began discovering my authentic self, that I learned the true value of intimacy. Allowing someone in; to see me and accept me just as I am. I'd like to think that I've done that here in my blog and especially in my personal and professional relationships. I use to have a big issue with trust and I've surrendered that. Wow, it feels incredible just to type it. Surrendering something, anything, is trusting that once you have, you become more and more of who you were meant to be. I have developed many great friendships in my life but one esepcially that has helped me to find my true voice and see that my feelings are valid and to express myself is simply OK. My blog friends have also helped me to find my voice by commenting and supporting me and growing to love me just as I am. Thanks, love and hugs to all of you!

Gosh China.
Being yourself is what it is all about. Who cares if people like or dislike you. There are people you will like and dislike as well.Being true to yourself is what matters.
No one is perfect in this world and every one has a right to live their time in the sun.God gives us life so we live.
Trust is an issue I don't deal with because I'm an open book but when doing your job its no one's business to know much about you.
Its your business to know about them so there is no conflict of interest here.
What I find in my personal life is if some one does me wrong they carry the burden because I have done my job to be honest and thats all anyone can ask of a person.
My burdens end up lighter and the other persons end up heavier and eventually the other person will find these burdens too heavy to carry. That will be the other persons problem to resolve It has nothing to do with you because we are only responsible for our actions and what we do in life.Life is about living learning and growing but most important it is about you, as a person.
You need to be happy there as this is the only person you will ever be in this life.
Makes sense???? lol

I don't think I could ever be closer to anyone than my two younger sisters and my daughter. We can say anything, do anything, be anything and know that we are still loved, valued, trusted, etc. I thank God for sisters! I wish I had provided one for my daughter but I didn't! My son provided her a sister-in-law though - hopefully some day they will have that bond also.

Thanks for Stopping by Solomon. I still have my detectives looking for you. (LOL)

A Lady's Life - I am very happy with myself and the Life I'm living! This post was about how it took me some time to get there and how I learned the importance of intimacy.

PAK ART - I'm with you. I have 4 sisters and I thank God everyday for them. Each one adds something unique to my life and I love how they all somehow look up to me and I'm not the oldest (smile) I too wish I could have given my daughter a sister. Instead she got a little brother that she can occasionally borrow money from (LOL)

Ms. Silver - Thanks for stopping by to visit with me and I appreciate your comment and time here!

Love, peace and blessings!

China,
I have had a hard time being myself and opening my heart to other people too, but I have come to learn that if I shelter myself I am only missing out on blessing and being able to bless others as well.

There is always the potential for hurt and mistrust to develop. Grace helps with that. I think of how much God's grace has helped me, given me room to make mistakes and yet room to grow, to become me.

I am so thankful for the circle of ladies I know in my Bible study and Mom's prayer group and my circle of blogger friends as well. Each one has added so much to my life.

Thanks for your beautiful spirit.
