Materialism...

Society talks about over eating and over drinking but it does not talk about over materialism.

How much square footage would it take for you to be happy with your house? How many show rooms do you have for others to admire and not really comfortable for everyday living? How many of those rooms have a flat screen high definition TV?

How many cars have you leased? How often do you trade in your car for a newer, better model?

How many cell phones, I Phones, Blackberry’s or I Pods have you had and why do you constantly feel the need to upgrade them?

How about your accessories, (jewelry, handbags, neckties, belts) how much is too much or is there such thing?

How many suits hang in your closet? On the radio the other day there was a discussion about the difference between men and women. When a woman says that she doesn’t have anything to wear, she means that she doesn’t have anything new. And when a man says it, it means that he doesn’t have anything clean. How true is that?

And for the ladies, what’s our fascination with shoes? Who embedded that in our brains? I’ll have to do a little more research on this one. (lol) For the men, don’t laugh I'm sure some of you are running a close second place.

I’m not here to judge anyone, their wants or needs. God wants us all to have an abundant life. He also wants us to keep those “things” in perspective. Are you defined by things? How would you feel if you were to loose it ALL. I don’t know about you but as long as I have his unconditional love and forgiveness, I wouldn’t care?
