A life partner

I once heard that you must be or become the very person you are seeking to share your life with. Not in the sense of being the exact same, but most people are looking for someone not realizing that they must also possess similar qualities & values to sustain the relationship. And by all means, please don't look for someone to make you happy; that truly comes from within.

only speaking from experience...

Yes, I agree. Happiness is a fleeting emotion. It's just like all the rest of our emotions. They say no one can make you mad. Your anger is yours to own and control. AND so is your happiness.

I am glad to see that you are holding on to these convictions. If you did not (in your job) you's be a mess. Then I wouldn't be able to call you my Miss Buttefly. I'd have to call you a ca-coon :-)

Similar qualities are good, but I have to say personality wise my hubby and I are on opposite ends of the pole. I don't think I would want to live with another me. We balance each other out and that feels right.

And even though I love him very much, my personal joy in life is based deeper than any human relationship could ever go.

Totally agreed.

Of all the times where I can say that I was and am happy, it was shown from my inner self, my own happiness and not necessarily what I received from others.

Awe, i love this and i believe you are right...rather become whole, spiritually, emotionally and mentally then to approach the love of my life as a half.

I think you must have the same beliefs. Personalities not so much, but they should compliment each other, not clash. And you are correct, happiness and true joy come from within your own heart and your relationship to God.

As long as you have enough things in common, and are able to form a long-lasting relationship:)
Have a great week, Butterfly!

Hi! There Miss Butterfly!!
Missed ya. Thanks for visiting :)
You are looking good by the christmas tree :)
My experience is, never search for love. It comes to you when you least expect it, from a person you least expect it from and it does so because when you are yourself you are a lot more attractive than when you try too hard to get something. That's when mistakes are made.
Trust in yourself and your spirit and it will all work out. :)

thanks for visiting everyone. just in case someone was wondering about this post...i'm not searching or looking. i'm just growing into the woman i was meant to be and i've learned my likes, dislikes and what i can contribute to a "mature" relationship as i've come to know myself through this life's journey....

love, peace and continued blessings!

Found you through another blog. You are right on with those sentiments. To me it's a matter of trust. You can trust NO one to bring you happiness because if you give that person such power, then they will have the power to take it away. Make your own happiness - then the supply is endless.
